Elliott's first haircut

We tried to resist as long as possible, but it finally got to the point where Little E had to get a haircut. How did we know? Well...

It was getting in his eyes, for one thing...

And his sideburns were long enough to curl around to touch the back of his head. So, with a bunch of Puffs as distraction, the cutting began...

"Mom, what are you doing? This is just terrible!"

"Oh, wait, something interesting..."

"Well, how do I look?"

Sushi monster

One new development is that Elliott increasingly wants to eat what we're eating. So we've started to order him his own meals sometimes when we go out to eat. The other night we went out for sushi and got him a sweet potato roll. His teeth had a little trouble with the seaweed, but he seemed to like it otherwise!

Playdate

Isobel invited Elliott over for a playdate the other day. Sometimes it's all fun and games, but this day was full of serious stuff. Here are Isobel and Elliott in a moment of intense deliberation over some important baby-related issue.

Highlife

Dad's friend Cooper was in town from LA yesterday, so we had a guy's day out. We told Elliott stories about how we met in 4th grade(!), had lunch, and went to the Highline.

We recently had lunch at our new favorite place in Queens, Tortillería Nixtamal.

Even though he used to love guacamole, Elliott was not interested this time. However, he was going crazy for the lime slices. Go figure.

I made a new resolution to try to post a new photo every day. We'll see how that goes. Right now I'm in catch-up mode so some of them may be a few days/weeks old. Here is a great photo from a recent lunch at Motorino with Eric, Sara and Andrea (right arm pictured).

Elliott is a walker

So Elliott started walking a few days ago. We grabbed the camera and got the 2nd time on video.

Spring is here

Lots of new adventures for Elliott now that spring is here.


Including lots of new parks to explore. (Elliott is still pretty torn up about the NCAA tournament this year; best not to mention it to him.)


Elliott's first hike. He did great in the backpack. Too bad for dad that the first 1/2 of the hike was straight up hill...


But it seems like it tired Elliott out too.
